The central theme of these Meetings is the transition from the preserved archive to the living archive. Amateur cinema is viewed here not only as a heritage to be protected, but also as a resource for understanding societies, passing on memories, experimenting with new practices and creating contemporary cultural forms.
The programme’s originality thus lies in the interplay between collective memory, technical expertise, technological innovation, ethical responsibility and artistic creation, within a framework of European cooperation.
